DESCRIPTION:This week the Open Culture Week will take place! This means a week full of fun open activities organized by all cultural assocations to make it possible to get to know the association more. We will kick off the OCW with a Photohunt! The photo hunt will be helt on the campus of our university! No better way to learn new things considering photography then by carrying out some challenges\, where creativity and collaboration are key! Do you think you can make the best pictures and capture the funniest moments? Or at least you want to try it? Then join us on Monday\, where we will gather in front of the Luna building. If you have your own camera\, please bring it! In case not\, no worries; we will be photographing in groups\, so one camera per group will be enough.

SUMMARY:OCW Steelwool spinning (open to non-members)
DESCRIPTION:The Tuesday of the OCW will be in theme of a fan favourite: steel wool spinning! By lighting a wad of steel wool on fire we will make sparks fly like stars through the sky. Then by taking long exposures\, we can create beautiful creative shots like the one above. Don’t be afraid if you are not familiar with long exposure shots! This activity is perfect to learn how to work with long exposure. Lastly\, we also might have an extra surprise for you which will be breath taking! 😉

SUMMARY:OCW Street photography (open to non-members)
DESCRIPTION:This activity is all about street photography! Although the name is somewhat misleading in a way\, because we’re not going to take pictures of the pavement but of things on the street. \nStreet photography is easy to pick up\, yet sometimes hard to execute. However\, very interesting for beginning photographers and the masters of the craft. \nIf you are somewhat shy to talk to strangers\, this is the workshop for you! \nIn this workshop Alesander Aydin will go through all the do’s and don’ts and tips and tricks before going through the streets of Eindhoven centrum to take our own pictures. We will split up in small groups so that everyone can perform this exercise (with at least every group one camera. If you have your own camera bring it with you! Smartphones are not really suitable for this activity\, but it is possible). The focus lays on: getting over the fear of using a camera on the street and communicating with strangers\, using your camera quickly\, being creative\, some camera settings\, and lots of “just do it”!

DESCRIPTION:We hope a lot of great pictures will be taken during the OCW activities\, but to make them even greater\, today we are going to teach and learn the basics of photo editing. This evening a workshop in Lightroom will be given by Levi Baruch. Lightroom is a program that lets you edit your photos. You will learn the basics (filtering\, the meaning of sliders\, contrast\, exporting\, shooting raw) and the thinking process of editing overall. It can be interesting for intermediate levels as well! This activity will help you understand the fundamental things of editing photos and gives you the chance to create your own style of editing\, which can make your photos even more unique\, creative and beautiful!

DESCRIPTION:In tonight’s activity we will be working as photographers and as models! It’s the perfect chance to learn how to communicate to your subjects what works and what doesn’t\, learn how to be more comfortable in front of a camera and of course to get some good instagram pictures taken. We will have a few locations on campus\, including a portable studio with professional lightning\, so come take advantage of this opportunity! For experienced photgrapher this is a really nice chance to express some creative ideas you still wanted to try and for beginners this is also a very good chance to learn more about working with a studio set-up. You can bring your own camera\, but there will already be at least one available per group\, so you can still join without one. We will gather at 20:00 in front of Luna!
